Hi Congress Park neighbors!
I just bought a house on Josephine, and I'd like to look into the history of the property. Does anyone know where I can start? I assume that there are public records available somewhere...
I'd appreciate any information on this-- have you had success in history hunting? If so, how did you go about it?
Thanks, --cj

Info
Hi, I just bought a 1900 Victorian on Milwaukee, I'm also interested in researching the history of my house. A friend of mine has had some success at the Denver Public Library researching houses she's previously lived in. They have records of all the names that the title has been held in. There are tenant records on file too, if your house has ever been a rental it will show up there. There may be records of recent work done to your house with the building inspector, though I believe that this information isn't being kept for all that many years. Happy hunting!

Thanks Patricia
Thanks, Patricia. As it turns out, I'm going to the library tonight anyway, I'll see what I can dig up there.

Lots of info at the Library
Just to let anyone know who's reading this conversation:
There is LOTS of information available in the western history wing at the Public Library on Broadway.
I was able to trace the lot ownership from before any structure was built there (pre-1906), and well past then... Also lost of cool tidbits like the fact that there was a garage built around 1914 (there isn't one there now).
I couldn't find out a lot after one visit (I'm going back for sure), but I did become pretty proficient with a microfiche machine!
