Isn't it true Folsom is a high security state pen? Of course they have few escapes. I imagine there are towers & 'shoot to kill' orders on escapees.

Our new 'neighbor' will be minimum security, no towers, no razor wire.
BUT again, frustration over Broomfield's jail is minor in comparison with highly questionable process' in the formation of Broomfield County.

I do believe for some folks, no matter how often we explain our position on the jail and ethics in local government, they just want to keep the jail issue alive.

We've moved on.

Sidestepping

Key questions are being sidestepped by BBW.

He only responds to or encourages discussion about the jail.

Why?

We want answers on the 2 feasability studies and obvious lack of public comment and input.

Maybe he is obtaining counsel from the Broomfield city attorney.

I suggest you get some basic facts. The constitutional amendment creating the City and County of Broomfield states that the salaries of the Mayor and City Council members shall be set by City ordinance and not by state statute. The City Charter provides that salaries of the Mayor and Council members can not be increased during their terms of office.
Regarding the jail, CVELG can not sever itself from the jail. Read their comments. "If Broomfield no longer has county status, there will be no need for a Broomfield County jail." And, "the jail will never open its doors." These are CVELG's statements, not mine.

Why do you have the perceptions you do regarding the jail? What makes you think an escaped prisoner would want to meander all over Country Side? Have there been many escaped prisoners from all of the existing county jails in the Denver metro area?
Highly questionable process regarding the formation of Broomfield County? That's nonsense. You can not accept the fact that Broomfield voters overwhelmingly approved the 1996 ballot question and, at the statwide election, approved the consitutional amendment by a 62% majority. These are facts.
