Tell me why the original feasability study was not shared with your citizens.

Tell me why the 2nd feasability study was only discussed in your infamous 'study sessions' where no public comment is allowed and no minutes are taken.

In what public forum did Broomfield city government make the formal decision to pursue county status?

Somebody has given you some bad information. Broomfield's mayor and city council will not receive a higher salary if Broomfield becomes a city and county. Their salary will remain the same - $500 a month for the Mayor and $300 a month for Councilmembers. Tjhis is a fact. There is no conflict of interest!
You and others say this is no longer about the jail - its about ethics. Then, one of your leaders says if Broomfield no longer has county status, there will be no need for a Broomfield jail.
Another one of your members made the statement the jail will never open its doors. When CVELG's members make these statements, what do you expect others to believe? You need to check you own ethics.
CVELG said Broomfield was unethical regarding the jail decision. Another reference to the jail. Broomfield was not unethical in its jail decision. The jail will not harm you or any other Country Side resident.

Ok, you got "facts" to back that up or just another bunch of statistics?? We'll see what happens when BF has their first escapee from this jail. BF has always been "unethical" not telling people about a jail that they were thinking about is WRONG in my book, and then to turn around and say that they had all of these public meetings, its a bunch of BS and your just trying to cover your butts so you can look good to your community and in the election!!

Is the Broomfield County issue the first one you've ever
voted on without being completely informed as to all
aspects? I doubt it, unless you have an awful lot of time
on your hands to research every single issue from all
angles. Unless you believe what you read in the papers . .
. which I also seriously doubt . . . you have never been
totally informed on any issue. That's politics. Surely you
folks aren't that naive.

When I voted on the Broomfield County issue, I relied on the
blue book and the media. Maybe the rhetoric didn't scream
out that they were going to build a -- you brought it up
again, not me -- JAIL, but even if it did, that would not
have been a determining issue for me. Neither would
corporate involvement nor COPS. I didn't care how they
would pay for it, as that did not concern me. I am not
being crass. I am being realistic.

You say your own CC lied to you or hid the truth. Then do
something about it that will matter! Like I said, you'll
have my full support if you address an issue worth
addressing and one that might actually do some good.

By the way, the reason the county issue was a state-wide
vote is because the Constitution of the State needed to be
changed for Broomfield to become a city and county, and it
will need to be changed again to undo the first change.
Both changes, if another occurs, will be on the books
forever -- and the history will all go back to the jail.
You cannot deny the fact that the jail was the catalyst for
all of this. You are kidding yourselves if you lose sight
of that fact.
