I thought I saw you at King Soopers in a city and county of Broomfield t-shirt. It had big letters on it that said don't sign this petition.
I am sure that not everyone in Broomfield is content and I will try to convey your message. As you know, about 38% voted against the city/county constitutional amendment.
I have a question. Why didn't CVELG ask a state senator or state representative to introduce the repeal?

Hi BBW

Dang it, I was hoping you wouldn't notice me in that T-shirt! And I'm guessing you didn't stop to chat. There were a few gentleman who firmly expressed their support of the formation of the City and County of Broomfield. And of course I thought of you.

Well, we have discussed pursuing a senate sponsor but haven't actually done it yet. This is just a personal opinion (not CVELG approved): Because we are so unfamiliar with the political arena, it may be that we've just intuitively felt that signatures were easier than developing a repore with a busy, high level politician. But I'll be the first to admit there's nothing easy about signatures. It's hard work and I don't like it. So maybe we will actually try talking to a senator down the road. I guess we have a little time to consider that.

But I still like the fact that gathering signatures is a self checking system. If we are on the wrong track - then not enough people will help us gather the signatures and we will not be successful. It's a way for us to be aware of the actual support our ideas have. (It's just so darned much work)

BBW - an off the wall question for you about the general concept of "city and county": In a standard county and city configuration, does the county government serve as a check for the city gov? Or is city gov checked by state gov? Or is city gov checked at all? How does this new "city and county" configuration maintain those same checks and balances (if any exist in the standard to begin with)?

To BBW--pardon me

Please pardon me if I am wrong; but I am quite suspicious now. The BBW who was missing and I already had the discussion about the legislative comments. Are you the same BBW or someone using an identity we all believe to be a person worthy of conversation with us?

To Br anon

I was wondering the same thing, scary huh?? Seems like this BBW has a "new" attitude, no name calling, nothing...makes this girl very suspicious indeed!!
