It would not matter if anyone was against the parkway, even if every resident in BF voted it down, in fact it is my understanding that they already did! The parkway could still go through because their is no financial indebtedness to area residents. The indebtedness that will occur, and what seems to be out of control is more sprawl. This parkway will do nothing to ease traffic congestion off of 36. BF is just building another sprawlway irregardless of what anyone thinks!

P.S. Since you appear to know so much about BF and we do not know who you
are, how are you voting for the mayor?

Hi WW. I heard a rumor that you are moving to Broomfield and are going to run for mayor. I still have some extra city/county t-shirts.
Good questions. I'll do my best to try and answer them. First, it must be kept in mind that Broomfield has been a part of Boulder County for many years. Broomfield's tax base was a part of Boulder County's tax base. Boulder County is counting on a certain amount of sales tax dollars from Broomfield to help pay the County's bonds. Boulder County has purchased open space lands not only in the Broomfield area, but throughout Boulder County and has really done an excellent job. The intergovernmental agreement between Boulder County and Broomfield provides that Broomfield will continue to pay its proportionate share of the bonds applicable to open space lands acquired by Boulder County in the Broomfield area. In addition, residents of the City and County of Broomfield will have the right not only to use these open space lands in the Broomfield area, but also has the right to use all of Boulder County's open space lands (1,000's of acres) under the same terms and conditions as Boulder County residents. Boulder County will retain ownership of these open space lands, but has provided Broomfield a conservation easement for the open space lands in the Broomfield area which assures that the lands will stay open space. If these lands stay as open space and Broomfield residents have the same right to use these open space areas as Boulder County residents, it really doesn't make much difference who owns them. In my opinion, it is a good agreement that benefits both Boulder County and the City and County of Broomfield.

As you know I don't now and never will understand politics. I have my hands full just trying to grasp the laws that apply to all of this. - HA

Thanks for your response on the Boulder County Open Space issue. I think that specific matter is getting a lot of attention (at least conversation) and I want to understand what the deal is. I may agree that it really doesn't matter who owns the OS as long as it is maintained as such and is accessable to all contributing for ever. But it seems to me that Boulder County got the good end of that deal. Are they (Boulder) NOT taking credit for that OS that BF IS taking credit for, or is it being credited twice (once to each county)?

For those of you that are tracking the NWP issue, there is a article in the Rocky Mtn. News today. It sounds like Boulder wants to control it all, i'm not up on this issue but I'm thinking I need to do some more research. It sort of sounded like Bill Christopher is against it.
