THX BBW

Those are kind words, BBW. If you were serious, I thank you for the support. If you were sarcastic, I was chuckling to myself anyway. I am definatly not CC material - much to hot a temper, for one thing - total lack of understanding, for another.

Yea, we CVELGers will keep plugging along. Only time will tell us if we are lunatics (hee hee). But if nothing else, we are learning SO MUCH. And we really do appreciate your participating in discussion with us all. It is good for us to consider many perspectives - to see things through others eyes.

So thanks again BBW.

? for Joan

Great Post, Joan. I am particularly curious about the 100K$ that BF (for example) put up to sponser Berens on that board. Was that voted on by citizens? Was it even publicized to citizens? It seems like the city is financing a Limited Liability Corporation of sorts(limited liability to their public that is).

And just because you made me think about it:

For Joan - Re: NW Parkway

My interest in the NW Parkway is the segment from I-25 to US 36 and SH 128. I believe this segment of the Parkway is being very carefully planned with input from Boulder County, Weld County, the city of Broomfield, the city of Lafayette, and the city of Louisville. The plans include an abudant amount of open space along the Parkway corridor.
The Parkway plans are distinctly different than the old plan for W-470.
I do not believe this segment of the Parkway will add to urban sprawl or to air pollution and may, in fact, help to alleviate both. Some think that this segment of the Parkway will help alleviate traffic on US 36.
One of the reasons the state legislature adopted the Public Highway Authority Law was and is the limited amount of federal and state funds available for highways. The PHAL also authorizes public highway authorities to levy tolls.

Personally I don't think anything can help the traffic on US 36. My hubby commutes to Denver everyday via 36. And Westminster claims that by widening Sheridan and soon Federal overpasses will help that as well. I guess I'm not being optimistic about it, if more people continue to move here putting all the roads in the world is NOT going to help traffic. And I agree with Joan, it will just bring more pollution and noise, its already busy on HW 128 now as it is!
