To BBW..#1, and CVLEG
Thank you for responding. First, I will address the jail issue; so the word never appears here again; (have it noticed it has four letters!!)
I, personally, suggested to some in power that the jail be placed near the tennis and swim club (and yes, this IS my neighborhood); because of its obvious distance to the police department and anticipated court systems. One of the major issues in the campaign was the distance travelled to court systems; this was an obvious choice to eliminate unnecessary travel hours. As it is; we still have extreme travel hours; between the jail, the p.d. headquarters and the courts. No one was interested. So what. I lost.
I am in agreeement that any one can respond to criticism; however, my reading of these comments is not criticism; rather it is threatening in nature. As for the survellance at the library; that was in the Letters to the Editor section; where someone was followed in their research on the formation of the county; a BF address.
I challenge you to consider this BBW; the jail is the conclusive end to the beginning of CVLEG involvement. The orginal group was CFFD (citizens for fair decisions) that opposed the jail. Once the jail decision was finalized, that group disbanded. How many of those members are with CVLEG is something I do not know; like you I am anonymous.
And, I must state this; my experience with the group on this board is that they are indeed dedicated to discovering the tools and actions taken by the council in the formation of the county.
Why did CVLEG form? Not because of the jail location; instead because they, too, are Colorado citizens, who have discovered some areas of questionable actions on the part of BF council to achieve the county status. I have come to the sad conclusion that these actions verge on ethics and legality. As you and I know; these are not interchangeable terms. The biggest and most pressing question encouraging me to find this group; simply, why the rush; why break the standard of public forums on an issue that affects the future of every man, woman, child, dog, cat, and hamster in BF. This is bigger than open space, bigger than Interlocken as far as impact.
CVLEG, like any group of Coloradoans, has the right, as a citizen group, to explore the formation of this county. Unaware of the total results of their research; I can only state this: if the Secretary of State believed this was no more than a revenge act because of the placement of the jail; would CVLEG have an approved ballot question? I believe not. This was a third party, neutral decision; something presented gave CVLEG the green light at the state level.
