Am I the only crazy one out here???? Why does our new Gov. not support light rail? I am specifically referring to the line that is to go from downtown to the Tech Center. A couple of thoughts....
1) We have a pollution problem that is really not pretty.
2) Some are saying that people won't ride it. Well, I think it is unfair to judge ridership in any other line in the city with that corridor's. If people could get easily from their door to their high tech or office job in half the time they spend in their car commuting, it would make sense. Hey -read the newspaper or relax (of all things on the way.)
3)I understand that at lunch time some people like to have their car to run errands or go further for to meet someone for lunch. But that is not everyday and many people eat their lunches in the office.
4)Portland has done an amazing job of providing rail transit all over the city and to the outlying area.

I would be really interested if any of you can give me some of your thoughts on this issue - I don't get it.
