Good question. We don't really have a choice. People keep selling their land to churches! If a church wants to purchase land and use it as a church, we have no choice but to allow it by Federal Law. There is no limit to the extent of the town that churches can be constructed. We can, however, regulate some of the conditions regarding access, sewer, water and construction, etc. Come to the meeting on Thursday - there will be a public hearing on the new request by the Jehovah's Witness church. You can express your opinion as the board makes decisions.

By the way, the application for re-zoning near Parker and Arapahoe is forthcoming from the developer. The results of a re-zoning will immediately boost tax revenue and eventually result in a many-fold increase in our sales tax after new business moves in. We can also set standards for the new business regarding appearance, size, and lighting, etc. This revenue will be used only by Foxfield, unless un-incorporation occurs. Of course, we would then have to share with the rest of the county.

Rebuttal:
Have you called anyone at any department in Aurora to see what their present plans on for annexing us? If you had you would realize that there master plan is to annex only those parcels of land that are undeveloped. Without calling Aurora, information such as this is essentially baseless.

''This would permit every Foxfield resident who wanted to subdivide and increase our density. We would lose our country lifestyle.''

Rebuttal:
How many people want to subdivide their 2.5 acre sites? Have you checked with the Colorado Water Commission to see if it is possible to get a well on the one acre site or less? If not, have you checked to see the feasibliity or the cost for access to our water through another tap or two or three?

Rebuttal:
We already have lost our country lifestyle with the inevitability of paved streets. We have also lost it with the attitude of the residents towards each other. This ''town'' has become just like any other. You may know your immediate neighbors but that is the end of it.

''If Foxfield residents want to make changes, run for trustee.''

Rebuttal:
The present trustees are trying their level best to keep a grasp on all the changes that are happening. I doubt very seriously, if we could find a more dedicated group of individuals to handle the problems this town is facing.

However, without the proper tools, neither they nor anyone else will be able to provide the leadership
this area needs. Part-time leaders are not what we need. WE NEED FULL-TIME LEADERS with the expertise, finances, and expertise to take us into the future.

One of the trustees made a comment at a recent meeting that he thought the last few years had ''been fun''. Our esteemed mayor said (paraphrasing)''let me know when the fun starts.'' She appears to have had her fill of the problems.

New trustees at this point would also have to face all the problems without knowing the background on them. How long would it take to get them up to speed? I'd be willing to wager not as long as it would take the officials of Arapahoe County.

Rebuttal:
Once again you seem to be ''selling FEAR''(False Evidence Appears Real). If we unincorporate, yes we will have to share the increase of revenue from the new sales taxes raised by the new businesses built in our area. BUT
we will also share in the revenues collected from other Arapahoe County businesses. And, of course I may be wrong, but I'd be willing to bet that the revenue we lose will not be close to our portion of the revenue and services we will gain. If you consider what we need to keep this town running (i.e. road maintanence, paving, repairs to paving, defending lawsuits against the town, attorney's monthly stipend, etc.)we are in the spiral of economic death.

Please stop selling FEAR.
