Since the beginning of the school year I have notice that there have been many new schools going up. We are forced to walk our children to school under unsafe conditions. There is still construction going on in our neighborhoods and the children have to walk to school dodging cranes, bull doziers and other construction equiptment. We have not recruited enough volunteers to cross the children. The one lady that was at the corner of State Fair and Brock is not there anymore. What can we do to make sure the children are safe until crossing guards are in place. Suggestion: Police assistance, there needs to be a policeman posted at designated crossings, such as Brock and State Fair, State Fair and Hayes as well as a temporary stop sign for traffic on State Fair at this intersection. One child has already been hit by a car and I fear for my life everyday when I walking the children to school. HELP!
