I was not aware that this area had a block watch until my child brought home a flyer from Crismon Elementary (Meet Neighbor Event).
I moved into my current home appr. 4 years ago -- when purchasing this home it was very important to us that we buy in this or surounding areas.
Prior to moving here and raising my kids -- my parents bought a home in Marlbough Mesa (neighborhood south of Quadalupe) -- In fact, while being build (close to the canal) we could look out the back and see dirt all the way to Quadalupe. I grew up in this area and went to the schools in this area, so when deciding areas to raise my kids -- the question was a no brainer.
I have seen first hand the impact and positive change that the block watch has had in Marlbourgh Mesa (kudos to Alma Jones) -- and actually called her seeking some advice when a sex offender moved in our area -- as far as getting information to other parents in my neighborhood.
So I am very happy to know that it does exist and look forward to watching it grow for years.
