Building a Safe and Caring Community for Residents

The Dosker Manor Resident Council created "Team Dosker" as a way to carry out the strategic plan to make Dosker Manor a better place to live. Team Dosker is made up of the Dosker Manor Resident Council Board and other resident leaders including the Building Captains, Dare to Care site manager and the Cafe Dosker Stop & Shop manager, Dosker Manor management and staff from ElderServe's SIT-UP Program. Just Solutions Mediation Services worked with this group to create the strategic plan for Dosker Manor. Issues Team Dosker has addressed include:
*Improving security at Dosker Manor.
*Beautifying the lobbies by painting and adding plants.
*Improving the hallways and stairwells by painting.
*Involving more residents as volunteers.
*Supporting Cafe Dosker Stop & Shop
*Providing training for Floor Monitors
*Recognizing residents who work to make Dosker Manor a better place to live--residents who help with the Welcome Wagon, who water the plants in the lobbies, and volunteer in other ways.

Team Dosker's slogan is "Be the Change You Want to See at Dosker Manor".

About our association

Dosker Manor Resident Council

All Dosker Manor residents are members of the Resident Council. Residents elect the seven-person Governing Board to represent them and look out for their interests. There are three representatives from A Building and two each from B and C Buildings. The Governing Board meets once a month on the first Friday of the month at 1:00 to discuss problems and concerns. The Resident Council holds a General Membership meeting every second Tuesday of the month at 2:00 in the Nutrition Room. We bring in speakers, hold town meetings, and share information about what is happening at Dosker Manor. All residents are encouraged to attend these meetings.

Working Together

The Dosker Manor Resident Council prides itself in working together with other groups and agencies throughtout the community--the Louisville Metro Housing Authority and Dosker Manor Management, Just Solutions Mediation Services, Metro United Way, ElderServe's SIT-UP Program, SCORE and others. Through colaboration we have been able to bring good things to Dosker Manor
