Every year the Dosker Manor Resident Council holds its annual Unity Day celebration. The event is usually held in June, and it is the biggest event of the year. Residents are treated to a fried chicken dinner with "all the fixin's", along with music, door prizes, and entertainment. Meals are delivered to homebound residents, and tents, tables and chairs are set up on the lawn for everyone else. The past year's celebration was entitled "Celebrate Diversity". Residents were invited to wear ethnic clothing, and flags of many countries were displayed along with information about various cultures. Unity Day came about as a way of getting everyone together for one special day with their neighbors and friends. It has become an annual tradition that everyone looks forward to. Thanks to Councilman Willie Bright for his support of Unity Day.
