A New Branch for Driving Park
|
I’m Cathy Fithian, manager of the Driving Park Branch. Columbus Metropolitan Library is proud to be a part of this community and we have some great news to share. You may have heard about our plans to build a new branch in Driving Park.
We’ve taken a huge step – our Board of Trustees has approved the purchase of land at 1422 E. Livingston Avenue to build our new branch. On the corner of Livingston and Kelton, the land is just 0.2 miles from where we are today. Construction will begin in 2013 with a plan to open in 2014.
To celebrate, please join us for a Community Coffee:
1566 E. Livingston Avenue
Thursday, December 20
5:30-7 p.m.
It’s a chance to have a cup of coffee and come together as a community committed to embracing the future. We’ll share news and photos about your new library.
This new branch – slated to go from 6,000 to 15,000 sq. ft. – allows us to provide:
- More space for kids and teens to learn
- Meeting spaces for the community to gather
- New technology
- Space for collaboration and learning
- Dedicated space for homework help, job assistance and college support
The new Driving Park Branch isn’t just a building – it’s a promise that the library will be here to serve you, to enhance the community and exceed your expectations now and in the future.
