Water Bill

Posted in: Clayton - Houston

While I agree that the charge is outrageous considering we also pay annual taxes to MUD120, there is a greater problem here.

Subsidance IS an issue.  We are depleting water tables and the land shows it.  More wells have  been opened to accommodate the new home construction in the past 2-3 years and we are just over pumping.

Our neighborhood (just north of Mission Bend) has already undergone sink hole repairs. On my street, 6 of the 10 homes have foundation problems as a result of severe shifting. It's not just the drought. Sidewalks are  buckled, dirt levels are dropping at alarming rates, and main water lines popping up causing major damage to our roadways. Did you see what happened on 1093 yesterday? Road buckled up 2 feet across 2 lanes.

MUD 120 is working on every line in the neighborhood trying to fix these problems but will deny any 'sink hole' claims. They just say the trees are pulling all the water out of the land. The homeowners have no recourse for the damages to their property.
