In response to all of you out there that has something negative to say about the Dumbarton Oaks Civic Club: You have no idea what an undertaking this is Only about 3 or 4 people are trying to keep the civic club afloat, and they work very hard. They volunteer their time and energy. Did you notice the new large street signs in the area? What about the trees along Hiram Clarke - Yes, our Civic Club got with the Five Corners Business District - trying to make our neiborhood look better. Yes, there is a yard ordinance in place, and the civic club tries very hard to enforce it by reporting violaters to the proper authorities. The second Saturday of every month a sign is placed in plain view of our Civic Club meetings. Do you attend? Most Civic Club and HOAs have the community behind them. Instead of critizing, go to the meetings, volunteer your services. The louder the crowd, the more will get done to improve our neighborhood. So instead of complaining and critizing, roll up your sleeves, go to the meetings and ask..."what can I do to help make our civic club successful.
