Fireworks -
There needs to be restrictions on fireworks in neighborhoods. With fireworks landing on houses, in yards, etc., together with fireworks’ injuries to children (and adults), this practice needs to be stopped. And yes, a person can report the unsafe handling of fireworks. But, by the time his house burns down or a loved one is injured, isn’t it a little late? Also, you are not to call 911. That means further delay.
My wife and I could not go to be bed do to the late hours for noisy fireworks. Parents with babies cannot put their children to bed.
My dog, birds, and other wildlife have no way to escape the noise. Also, we now have veterans with PTSD issues expressing discomfort with the noise. Being a veteran, I can sympathize with their views. I surmise the noise brings back memories of a war zone.
This activity belongs in city sponsored areas or people can attend city fireworks. Please respect your neighbor's viewpoint. Remember, our legislators passed the laws and can be contacted. So can your local councillor.
