Block Captains needed for East Central

Over the next few months, East Central will be conducting an aggressive out-reach program to include more participation from stakeholders in our neighborhood. One of the best ways to accomplish this, is to return to the Block Captain system that served so well years ago. We need volunteers to act as Block Captains and deliver our newsletter. Its one of the most effective tools for community organizing and one of the most effective and inexpensive marketing tools to be used by neighborhood groups. With new people moving into our neighborhood, it?’s essential that we include them in the neighborhood process. People will get involved if they?’re made to feel welcome. Mr. Olivia Robinson, former president of
Memorial Park neighborhood, hand delivers over 500 newsletters to their residents.

We need about 8 to 10 committed volunteers to contribute one hour per month to deliver our neighborhood newsletter. Volunteers should call Bonnie Andrews, at 426-6124 or Maye Johnson, at 424-8481.
