Burglaries are suddenly on the increase this week-- residential & business and auto.
Remove all items inside your vehicle from view (preferably from the vehicle altogether) and be sure windows are closed with doors locked.Same with your house -- be sure windows and doors are LOCKED. Test the doors before you leave or go to bed at night, to be sure the latch has caught. Nothing you do to insure your safety is redundant or silly -- if you have to test it 10 times, that's better than locking the mechanics but not having the latch catch, thereby allowing some stranger access to your home.
If your tree is displayed in the front window, burglars will suspect that you have gifts under your tree. Unfortunately, a smash-and-grab of Christmass gifts is not out of the question.
EVEN IF YOU ARE AT A DAYCARE CENTER AND ONLY PLANNING TO BE INSIDE FOR 2 MINUTES MAX -- LOCK YOUR DOORS AND CLOSE YOUR WINDOWS.
ROBBERS ARE TARGETING CARS AT DAY CARE CENTERS AND SCHOOLS, BECAUSE THEY KNOW PARENTS WILL BE CARELESS SO AS TO NOT HAVE TO JUGGLE MULTIPLE ITEMS OR CHILDREN IN THEIR HANDS.
