Anyone interested in a little bit of neighborhood improvement that would only cost about an hour of your time, PLUS has health benefits??
For a while everyone was keeping the common areas along the street picked up, but lately the situation has gotten bad, again. Cold, rainey weather has probably added to the problem, since we haven't been able to clean up on a regular basis and keep it under control.
According to the weather forcast (NOAA.gov), this weekend will be mostly sunny, with a high of ~65 degrees and breezy. This would make for PERFECT weather to put in a short time picking up the litter.
A few of us are going to concentrate on the common areas along Ola as well as hopefully Floriland/Patbur, but a few more would cut way back on the amount of time to do a thorough job -- plus get a little fresh air and exercise at the same time. -- as well as make some new friends. At this point we are looking at Saturday morning, around 9 (subject to change if you have a better plan). Whoever is game for joining us, please contact Aquarius9721@VERIZON.net so we can coordinate our efforts. I have a couple of remote handling tongs that I can bring, to help our backs from having to bend so much.
Wouldn't it be great to have a nice, neat neighborhood for your guests to drive through? Besides, seeing litter about just encourages others to add to it.
Let's make it a group project -- for the neighborhood pride.
