Beginning June 7, 2010, the City of Tampa Solid Waste division went to a new schedule for curbside pick-up of solid waste, recycling and lawn trash.
Judging by the number of blue boxes for recycling that we have seen around our neighborhood on Fridays, a lot of residents are unaware that our new day to place recycling & lawn debris at curbside is now Mondays.
In a nutshell: all City of Tampa residents from north of Columbus Drive and east of I-275 are scheduled for solid waste curbside pick-up on Mondays and Thursdays ( instead of Tuesdays and Fridays as it had been for years), with Mondays being the new day for curbside recycling and lawn trash pick-up.
In addition: if a pick-up day falls on an official city holiday (as it did with the 4th of July), there will not be pick-up on this official holiday, nor will there be a make-up day the next business day -- the next scheduled pick-up day is when your curbside pick-up will resume. Lawn debris and recycling will not be picked up until the next scheduled pick-up day for these items (i.e., 4th of July official holiday was on Monday, July 5th. There was no recycling pick-up on Monday the 5th; the next recycling pick-up will be the following Monday, July 12th. There was no day-late solid waste pick-up on Tuesday, July 6th -- the next pick-up was the one scheduled for Thursday, July 8th).
