From TPD Morning Report April 14, 2011 (event from 4/13/11):
The victim arrived home and noticed two strange bikes under her carport. She walked up to the side door and saw the deadbolt lock in the door frame and she is sure she did not use the deadbolt today. walked back to her car and immediately called the police. David Miller and Ofc. Tobin Myers were on scene within a minute. As they approached the house they heard the chain link fence in the rear rattle. Ofc. Miller ran to the back and saw two subjects jumping over a fence in the adjoining yards. Ofc. Miller began his foot pursuit through several yards and over several fences. He was giving verbal commands to " stop police" during the foot pursuit. Ofc. Miller was able to deploy his ECD with effective results, striking suspect #1 in the back and the right thigh. Ofc. Miller escorted suspect #1 back to the patrol car when he then looked out of the corner of his eye and saw suspect #2 hiding behind a trash car. Ofc. Miller, Ofc. Haight and Ofc.Myers arrested suspect #2 behind the trash can without further incident. The suspects had moved two firearms within the house in an attempt to remove them. Suspect #1 had some of the victim's property on her at the time of arrest. Ofc. Myers cut his hand on a fence during the foot pursuit and required several stitches. Det. Nightlinger responded to the scene and interviewed the suspects. The crime lab responded to process the scene with positive results.
