| Tampa, FL November 30, 2011 - Suspects Targeting Armenia Corridor Businesses Video located at http://youtu.be/VWkZTjrSMew and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPzDokABFEU There is a $1,000 Crime Stoppers Reward Detectives are searching for suspects in a string of armed robberies. Detectives believe the Sory’s Wigs and Fashion and the Choladas Restaurant robberies are the same suspects. The Vince’s Grocery and the El Chuzo BBQ robberies could be related. It is unclear if there are two different groups committing these armed robberies or if they are working together. ROBBERY #1: 11/21/11, 7:50 p.m. (Video from this robbery is located at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPzDokABFEU) Sory’s Wigs and Fashion, 8000 North Armenia Avenue SUSPECT #1: B/M, 18-25, 5’6 – 5’8, 160lbs., dark bandana over face, dark jacket with a hood, white socks, black slide shoes, armed with a black hand gun. Spoke English to the victims SUSPECT #2: H/M, 18-25, 5’6 – 5’8, 170 lbs., wore a dark ski mask, gloves, dark jacket with hood over his head, white tube socks and white tennis shoes. Armed with a black hand gun. Spoke Spanish to the victims. SUSPECT #3: H/M, 18-25, 5’10, 155lbs, wore a skeleton mask, dark jacket with hood and logo on left side of chest, dark pants, tennis shoes. Armed with a back hand gun. Spoke Spanish to the victims DETAILS: The armed suspects entered the business and demanded money from the register. They also took a laptop and the fled on foot to a vehicle waiting down the street. ROBBERY #2: 11-25-11, 7:30 p.m. (video from this robbery is located at http://youtu.be/VWkZTjrSMew) Vince’s Grocery, 7215 North Rome Avenue SUSPECT #1: B/M, mid 20s, 5’9, 170lbs., medium to dark complexion, white shirt with thin horizontal stripes, dark pants, black Nike gloves, orange bag. Armed with a large handgun. SUSPECT #2: B/M, 5’10, 180lbs., dark blue shirt with solid white stripes, blue knit cap. He was acting as a lookout in front of the business. DETAILS: The armed suspect entered the business, jumped the counter and demanded money at gunpoint. ROBBERY #3: 11/26/11, 9:40 p.m. Choladas Restaurant, 6729 North Armenia Avenue SUSPECTS: Three Hispanic males, all wearing dark clothing, gloves and armed with handguns. All spoke a mixture of Spanish and English. They fled in a dark colored vehicle. Two of the suspects were wearing ghost type masks. DETAILS: The suspects entered the back door. They ordered the victims to the floor at gunpoint and demanded money. They also took a laptop. ROBBERY #4: 11/30/11, 12:05 a.m. El Chuzo BBQ, 7101 North Armenia Avenue SUSPECTS: Two B/M, 18-24, 5’8, thin, wore all black clothing, gloves, black shirt covering faces, armed with handguns. DETAILS: The suspects confronted the victim outside of his business. They pistol whipped the victim and forced him back inside the business. He and another employee were held at gunpoint while the suspects took money from the register. They fled on foot. |
