This year the Forest Hills Elementary School is sponsoring an Angel Tree, to enable some kids who normally wouldn't to have a Christmass. Each teacher is submitting up to 2 students from their classroom to the Angel Tree Project, with a wish list and clothing sizes. The staff and PTA are helping purchase gifts for these kids. It would be great if the community also helped out, if possible. After all, these kids are our future first responders, lawyers, traffic controllers . . . we want them to get the best education they can, and to understand about community involvement. Let's teach them that as they are a part of the community it has helped watch out for them, so they need to help watch out for the community. Let's make this a life-long lesson for them.
If you would like to make a donation - either by purchasing a gift for these kids, or by a monetary donation for the staff to make a purchase in your behalf for these kids - please call the school office at 975-7633. Tell them you heard about the Angel Tree Project through Neighborhood Watch, and ask how you can help. The school social worker is in charge of this project.
It will be very much appreciated. And you will know where your donation went, unlike some of the mega charities.
