If you are having flooding issues to your home, property, street or general vicinity, here is some information for getting it alleviated:
Call the Stormwater Department to file a complaint: 274-3101 they have someone available 24/7 for emergency situations (and when there's 3 inches of water inside your family room (or about to be) . . . that's an emergency!). Record the name of any individual you speak to and any report number they may be setting up. If you don't get an inspector to come out, call them back until you get one. Keep calling until an inspector shows up and talks to you.Get pictures.
If in the meantime you are flooded again, call it in as another incident. Get pictures.
Get pictures of whatever you can: water in your house, water building up at your front door, street flooding . . DOCUMENT!!! You might have to get wet getting these pictures, but it will pay off in the long run. Document & call every time it happens, because each occurrance is a separate incident. Date your photos if your camera doesn't do it for you.
Keep a record of date/time/name of person that you make a report to, every time you call.
Notify your NHW leader of the problems you are having. We are trying to work with the Stormwater Department to obtain some flooding relief in our area. Email or call us as follows:
