Edgemoor

February Meeting

Jun 04, 2000

EDGEMOOR NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

February 17, 2000, Meeting Notes

President Tracy Salomone opened the Business Meeting at 7:30 PM.

It was moved and approved to pay for our Post Office Mailbox.

The Treasurer?’s Report of a current balance of $663.31 was approved.

Lee Kinnitt read her Minutes of our January Business Meeting. They were approved.

Tracy extended our welcome to the visiting newcomers at our meeting.

Our Community Police Officer, Keith Glasgow gave a report on his activities.
 Following the Police Retreat of last fall, it has been decided to direct Police follow-up to Fender Bender traffic situations.
 Traffic Committee proposals were defeated, by their neighborhoods, in recent votes.
 Keith asked that we establish a prioritized list of the 5 most serious problems noted in Edgemoor.
 He told us the Ultima, Camry and Saturn were the three most frequently stolen car models in the city due to the ease with which they can be burgled.

We were next address by Debbie Larson, our Public Service Representative for Zone 1, (38th. Ave. north to Ulmerton Rd., and from the Interstate east to the Bay). She gave her Audex phone number of 893-4138. Among her duties:
 Reporting needed street repairs to the appropriate city department heads.
 Replacement or repair of traffic signs.
 Reporting of sewer cave-ins or backup blockage. [She carries our sewer system maps in her truck.]
 Calls in requests for needed tree trimming or trash collection.
 Assists with drafting requests for neighborhood partnership grants.
 Her experience includes 4-1/2 years as a Codes Inspector.
 We can expect Debbie to respond to our Audex messages within two working days.

Old Business:

There is still some need to collect signatures from residents adjoining our proposed traffic calming measures.

We now have our new lawn posted meeting signs. They should be displayed starting the Sunday before our monthly meeting. They should be installed on private lawns, not on the public right of way.

New Business:

It was moved and approved to reimburse Tracy for paying our Post Office box rent.

Event schedule announcements: Feb. 18- Dome Block Parts, Feb. 26-Sanitation Dept. collection polluting material, Mar. 3-?“Get Down Town?” party, Mar.19-Boyd Hill Park Picnic

We were reminded to apply for the upcoming Citizen?’s Police Academy.

Brochures about the upcoming Census 2000 Project were distributed.

The Business Meeting adjourned at 9 PM.
