Our modest neighborhood has houses ranging from $80,000 to $150,000, however, those who live in Snell Isle and other prominent areas of St. Petersburg seem to run our neighborhood.
Puryear Park, which was originally a neighborhood park serving as a baseball and football field is now a SOCCER COMPLEX. Our neighborhood is not equipped to handle the influx of traffic that uses our roads as a speedway constantly. Now, they are proposing to tear down Tennis Courts, that are heavily used, in order to make more parking for SOCCER.
Also, Canterbury School which Harvey Ford and Kathleen Ford, (former City Councilwoman and other prominent citizens send there kids) there children go to this school which is located at the Easterly most part of 58th Avenue. Canterbury is wanting to make Foch, an extremely wide street already, a one way street, making all traffic coming through the middle of the neighborhood (in excessive speed).
Our Neighborhood has been tormented by these people, it is sickening that they have no problem ARRANGING OUR NEIGHBORHOOD TO FIT THERE NEEDS.
We have had animals killed, cars hit and in all aspects fear for our safety because they find it necessary to use our Neighborhood Park as a Soccer Complex.
We have been told that Northeast Raiders do contribute quite a bit of money to capital improvements. I guess the old saying is true ''Money Talks....''
Barron Johnson and Kelly Swoope have done stories on this neighborhood before. I would like for Robin Guess to investigate how much money is poured into Puryear Park for Capital Improvements from Northeast Raiders, or if tax payers are footing the bill. And in general, how much our neighborhood is going to have to endure for the purpose of the over zealous parents. Also, Canterbury, there has to be something done with these students, parents and faculty they way the run our neighborhood.
