  • Respect-O-Meter: Valued Neighbor

Hello everybody,

My husband and I recently moved to our new home on West Norwood Court from Austin, Texas.  We love the neighborhood,  neighbors, and our home.  We have lived here for approximately 3 months now and have noticed the neighborhood sidewalks are a complete disaster and not wheelchair friendly at all. Most of the sidewalk areas are uneven and have shifted making it very difficult to ride a wheelchair or push a baby stroller with ease. This is also very hazardaous as most of the corner homes have trees/shrubs that have grown over the sidewalks, obstructing street signs and not to mention the annoyance of having to step out of the sidewalk to walk around the overgrown hedges.  Is there some type of petition or survey our neighbors can participate in to help have our VOICE heard and to help others see the extreme need of a new, and SAFE sidewalk for all.

Also, community and neighborhood beautification should be high on our agenda. A visually appealing neighborhood increases property value, attracts new businesses, and improves the neighborhood's image. What can my husband and I do to help others get on the same page? We have a lot of home ownership pride and really want to see this neighborhood florish just like the other surrounding beautiful neighborhoods around us have.
