As it stands right now, we have 2 options.
Option 1: $24,000
The company recommended: bringing in 18" of crushed limestone (their recommendation to not only fill in the holes, but to achieve a proper crown) and grade it…at roughly $24,000. They said we could always go with less material, such as 12" or even 8" but with 8" they wouldn't expect the road to last near as long. If we’re going to do this, let’s make it count.
(Another company stated it would be $30,000. Not sure what that guy was drinking that day.)
Option 2: $1,500 short term fix --- He can do possibly get it done by Friday.
Guy who drives a grader for Genesee county Recommendation: start by just grading to see what kind of stone turns up.
For $8000, he would put down 3” of crushed concrete, but wants to grade it first to see what he has to work with.
FYI: 18 other companies were contacted. 4 of those had disconnected phone numbers, 4 others either "don’t grade" or "don’t have time", 3 referred to different companies, 5 others with no response…..you get the picture.
