The Facebook page is a great resource for our neighbors looking to connect. In addition to connecting with folks on Facebook, you should walk your block and introduce yourself. One of the best things you can do to create a safe community is get to know your neighbors. I have all of my neighbor's phone numbers. Do you?

Consider it. I know that if the power goes out, our street is on two different grids and willing to gather where we can. As different as all of us are in background and age, the one common characteristic we have is concern for eachother's well being and I have seen our block help eachother and share abundance on multiple occaisions. It is a blessing and I am thankful for them!~
