We spotted a bald eagle today --- February 27 --- flying above the retention pond in Elk Creek Farms and the creek along the Penn Township line. We've seen one once before, about the same time last year.
Anyone else seen bald eagles lately?

They are here quite frequently. Eagles are easily spotted this time of year, and quite active due to the nesting cycle. We've seen immature eagles as well in the area of the detention pond. I've been hoping for an area nest, but have not been successful in finding one! The nest that was located in Homeville (just N on 896) was blown down during a storm 2 years ago. I suppose that mated couple have created a new nest somewhere. |
