Planting trees in the common areas

Posted in: Elk Creek Farms

Are we allowed to plant trees in the common areas?  I was thinking of picking up a few fruit bearing apple trees to plant in the common area just next to the 896 drain ditch.

I'm not sure.  I think we have to get the HOA association's permission.  We want to plant some pine trees in the back of 27 facing the common area.

I think any common area planting requires HOA approval since it is shared ground.  Also, there is the question of maintenance, etc.  Speaking of which, is anyone maintaining the shrubs in the front of our development?  An while I am on my common area rant, can we start a petition to renovate our weed invested grounds - it is embarrassing and really hurts our property values.  I know it would increase our dues, but I believe it would be well worth it.

This seems like a common theme. There are many of us that would like to spruce up the neighborhood with some more trees. Has there been any response from The HOA?
