Questions for 12/3 meeting

Posted in: Elk Creek Farms

Since there is no obvious place to post questions for the 12/3/2009 meeting, I figured I would start this topic to capture said questions.  So far, I have seen two:

1.  Anthony on the Mystery Rose side referencing vandalism and dog barking complaints

2.  A firm settlement on planting trees or even improving the common areas on the Mystery Rose side.

I would also like to add the following:

3.  Gain a better understanding of common area lawn costs.  The amount spent (stated in the budget) does not match with the level of service and many residents feel we could contract with a more professional, more cost effective vendor.

4.  Explore neighborhood events other than the luminaries and yard sale.  There is no cohesion between the two sides of ECF.

5.  Can we separate the development into two separate neighborhood associations?

6.  Petition Penn Township to reduce the speed limit in the development to 15 or 20 miles per hour

7.  Understand any neighborhood improvements the neighborhood association is planning.  The original plans for ECF called for a nature path between the two sides of the development

I also have additional questions.

8.  How close to the front of your house is a fence permitted and should placement of fencing be uniform throughout the development?

9.  Detached garages?  Are they permitted?

10.  If street lights are brought into the development who is going to pay for it?  Our association fees are high enough and our common areas look terrible.

11. Dog Walking:  Can something be done about people allowing their dogs to urinate and deficate in people's lawns?  I realize that dogs need excerise(I like dogs).

I would actually like to add to #2. The common area on The Allsmeer Dr side also needs work. Since the covenant wasn't really followed and grass seed even put down on the lower side, trees would at least help. I would love to plant a couple myself. So I would include both "sides" of the neighborhood on this topic.

The street sign for Mystery Rose Lane at the intersection of 896 is missing does anyone know who needs to be contacted.

Also reducing the speed limit in the development may be a good idea but getting people to stop at the stop signs that we do have would also improve overall safety.
