Hey, no offense taken. I am starting to think the same way you are in regard to the story, but the man again said it really happened to my friend just last week in a conversation they had. When my friend asked if he had emailed me the story yet, he said no.... reason he hasn't gotten back with me is he is so busy. But, like you, I will await further information on this issue, and until then, not worry about it (but stay vigilent and on the look out).

In no way do I mean to bring unneeded stress and worry on neighbors.

Kids do need to stay off the main street unsupervised, I agree.  Whther they be on a golf cart, bike, skateboard, or pogo stick.

This is a clarification of the previous comments to the so called kidnapping attempt. To begin with, I don't believe it was a kidnapping attempt. If anything it may have been a harrassment attempt. But we are not sure if it was even that. Although we did report the incident to the Sheriff's Dept. we never received a reply back from them. They assured us that they would be on the look-out for any suspicious vehicles in our area.

My 14 year old son and his 14 year old friend were in the Dogwood Meadows area riding a bike and a skateboard around 4:30 in the afternoon. The white van with several black males slowly passed and then started backing up toward them. Because of the previous incident in Dogwood Meadows they got scared and ran home.  My son was afraid they were followed so he got his shot gun that he uses for deer hunting and loaded it and had the safety on. He did not go back outside the house because they were scared. He immediately called me at work and told me what happend and that he had his shot gun. My first question to him was "do you have it loaded?" He said yes but the safety is on. I immediately told him to unload the gun and put the shells back up away from the gun. I told him to make sure all the doors were locked and for them to stay in the house until his Dad got home. I then called his Dad and he immediately headed home.

I hope this clears up any other versions of this incident.
