Do you think this neighborhood would ever get sidewalks?  If not, it would be nice if we could get all of the roads paved so we have decent areas to walk and stroller my baby around.  We were in The Oaks the other day and the roads over there are terrible and so bumpy. 

 

We, too, frequent the Oaks and we too, have a baby. A jogging stroller solves the issue. They are great and you can get them used for under $100 (Thoughh ours was given to use by friends after their little once grew up).

 As for sidewalks, I thought about that idea many times too, but then you have to talk to each and every property owner since it is their "land" that would be taken over (less to mow though). Then you have to consider drainage (as each water drain ditch is in a great spot for a sidewalk, and without the drains, we would be in a wet neighborhood) and of course you wouldn't want to take down the trees on the main drag. and they are about where a sidewalk would go.

I think it was a severe oversight on the design of the neighborhood, but perhaps they didnt expect it to get this big.

 Repaving a road would solve bumpy baby carriage issues, but cost the residents money because (I think) the HOA has to pay for things like that and new light posts, etc. But I could be wrong. Then you have to consider the hassle to residents in the Oaks area. If they are okay with the road situation in their neighborhood, then there isn't much others can do about it.

I live in the Oaks and I HATE the roads.  I guess I didn't pay attention to them when I was checking out houses to buy.  My car rattles in places I didn't think was possible.  LOL  I had my 3 year old daughter out in the wagon Tuesday night and the first thing she said to me once we got out of the driveway and onto the road was, "Momma, this is a bumpy road."

I think those roads have been there for at least 12 years or more.  I don't think we'll ever get them repaved unless they wash out and the chances of that happening are slim to none.  =(  I would love to tolerate the inconvience of the roads while they re-paved them.

I guess they just don't bother me that bad. The stretch takes me 41 seconds to drive on to my house and in a jogging stroller the kid can't feel it.

Plus, in a world filled with saddness and evil, is the road really all that bad?
