Does anyone has any new, creative, innovative ideas that can help us have access to fresh food?

Some ideas (some have been mentioned in another post):

1. Mobile grocery store

2. Expand Lee's Hair and Dollar and add more police support

3. Open a new, small local store (maybe some of the veggies can come from the community garden?)

4. Arrange transportation to and from a grocery store

Please add any other ideas you may have to help solve this problem!!

Food co-ops are popular in NC.  Are there any near you?

Good News!

Vanderbilt Children's Hospital will be sponsering a project this summer to bring a farmer's market into the Edgehill community. We will be selling in-season, locally grown fruits and vegetables every Thursday afternoon from 4pm-6pm at 11th and Edgehill Avenue. Come look for us starting June 17, 2010!

We also have a rewards program called Super Shoppers, which gives you free "Veggie Bucks" each time you fill out a survey for us or spend $5 at our veggie market! It is free to join, and you will receive $2.50 in veggie bucks just for filling out the initial questionnaire!

HAPPY SUMMER EDGEHILL! SEE YOU THURSDAYS!
