There is opportunity for neighbors that are concerned about the eye catching beauty (or possible lack of it) of their neighborhood(s) in Syracuse, NY and some of the surrounding communities. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County has a program called the CommuniTree Steward Program. This program offers volunteers education in the proper methods to plant, prune, and care for trees in their neighborhoods, and gives them a chance to meet new people who have similar interests.
If anyone reading this has an interest in getting involved in the CommuniTree Steward Program, please get in touch with me by e-mail or by calling me at 315-424-9485. It would be great to see some enthusiastic volunteers taking charge of how their neighborhood looks. Thank you.
