Man in a white truck appeared to be profiling me while I walked to the mailbox on Tuesday.
He actually stared at me twice as he passed me the turned his truck around and came back down the street and proceeded to stare at me again. He came back up the street, stopped at the corner then drove on down Cahill.
I didn't have my phone with me as I only live three blocks away from the mailbox.
Don't know if it was because I was black while walking or if it was because I was wearing black clothing while being black. I had the same feeling most blacks have when shopping..."why are we being watched!"?
I was expecting to have police come question me about my presence in the neighborhood.
We own our house, have been in the neighborhood for almost 8 years, and keep our yard neat.
I've never felt uncomfortable here before, except the first month of moving in when my car was broken into when we left it on the street. Our garage was still full of moving stuff. Now we park in the garage.
The man driving was an older white guy, driving a white truck with the windows down. So maybe no air conditioning. This was about 9:30 am near the intersection of Cahill and Foxhound Trail. He never said anything or stopped but the staring and turning the truck around anc coming back and staring while driving by me was a little unnerving.
