In December, I attended a lecture in downtown LA given by David Engwicht, author of ''Street Reclaiming, Creating Livable Streets and Vibrant Communities.'' The lecture was hosted by the MTA, and folks from all over So. Cal. attended, arriving by foot, train, bike, and bus. THe premise was to reduce the number of cars on the street and restoring the street to its position as the heart of the neighborhood. ANyhow, it was really a kick, and I invite you to visit Mr. Engwicht's website at www.lesstraffic.com. I think we can all start to make our neighborhood a better place by focusing on driving the speed limit not only in our neighborhood but all over town. Let me know what you think.
