but evryone knows you don't argue with cops on the street, you only argue with them in civil court.

This does not make alot of sense... Civil court is where you sue people?

If you don't agree with a decision by a officer on the street call 207-SAPD and request that a supervisor either come see you or call you... It's that simple. If you don't agree with that supervisor, repeat the process.

You are not always going to get the answer you want. Just because you think someone should be arrested does not mean that they can be arrested. Cops have to go by numerous things to arrest someone, IE penal code, code of criminal procedure, case law, supreme court rulings, and of course what the local DA will accept.

One more thing, just because you see it on Law and Order or CSI does not make it true. We don't get DNA results in 30 minutes, not every case is solved etc...

Exactly! give that Officer a cigar ...Peace Officers get sued all the time by people with the resources to assert their civil liberties.

This is getting off topic, but of course, I was speaking statistically, and only in the case of something actionable, which is not really for a supervisor to decide. Even in the case of my neighbor's situation of a cop failing to properly investigate a terroristic threat because she was in the wrong income bracket and/or Mexican, take your pick. And the reason I mentioned civil court is because of just how rare criminal court juries find against Peace Officers even if you can get a DA to indite. (Rodney King comes to mind) But for some reason when it's merely a preponderance of the evidence, Peace Officers can find themselves explaining how it is they cost the city some money. Civil courts are just easier that's all. I'm not going by TV shows, just the statistics. Cops make mistakes too, and sometimes those mistakes are actionable.

I'd say Law & Order and CSI is to law enforcement & crime solving what fox news is to fair and balanced reporting.

Now, getting back on topic, your point about "Just because you think someone should be arrested does not mean that they can be arrested." brings me back to the cameras and what neighbors can reasonably expect by way of acces to images concerning the definition of an incident. I know you don't have this answer so I'm just putting it out there for people to ponder. I would just like to know who will have access and what incidents will be deemed worthy of a review. I have a feeling the cameras aren't going to be as available as some might think.

Have a nice day.

I don't even know what the fee's are, like $30 a month I think. If ONE DOLLAR extra a day is going to break you then you in fact have some serious problems.

Dues are indeed $30.00 a month.  I can adjust or live w/ one extra dollar a day IF security truely works. In the event something happens and security doesnt work, can I get a refund? j/k

This exactly what I did when our SAFE officer padded down my special needs son because he did act and look the way he thought he should.  I got the situation taken care of and an understanding of what he was thinking.  I didn't agree with it but an understanding just the same.   Oh and I have done DNA studies in the laboratory and it takes four hours just to prepare it for testing.....in the beset case, not even close to 30 minutes.  Laughing
