FAR NORTHWEST COALITION ( FNWC )

FAR NORTHWEST COALITION
P. O. BOX 340285
COLUMBUS, OH 43234

September 27, 2006

The Far Northwest Coalition (FNWC) met for its regularly scheduled meeting at the Northwest Library. Members present of the FNWC Board were John Best, John Murley, Kelly Thompson, Chris Anderson, Mike Brown, Joe Macomber & Rich Herner.

Best reported that he had been contacted by Dave Perry and that the condo units planned for Snouffer/Skyline area appear to be dead and will probably not reappear. He noted that is the 2nd condo project for that area that has not come to fruition. The group briefly discussed the sewer/drainage issue along that stretch of right of way. The group also briefly discussed the development project on St. Rt. 161 in Dublin, in conjunction with all of the other vacant units currently in the Dublin Village Center.

Tom Rainey of the Community Oversight Foundation discussed with the FNWC his group’s work in the Delaware County area, primarily Liberty Township. The group started in opposition to the planned Wal Mart and has branched out into other hot button issues, one of which being the proposed Sawmill Parkway. He invited the FNWC to join his group to provide representation from this area of Columbus. He said they have approximately 20-25 active members coming from neighborhoods containing upwards of 3000 households.

Rainey said their group is not anti-development (some members being former developers); they just want to see the development done properly. They regularly talk to the Liberty Township Trustees, as well as the Delaware County Commissioners. The group meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 8:00 PM at the waste treatment facility.

Best then mentioned that he wanted to let the group know that there may be new information coming out on the previous TND proposal in the Northwest Civic Association area. Best also noted that the Northwest Plan revision just seems to be sitting with the City and nothing happening right now.

There being no further business to come before the FNWC, the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,

Rich Herner
FNWC Secretary
