In response to residents complaints, the Marion County Sheriff's department is patroling our Farley Streets. Speeders are being ticketed!! They are also observing stop signs on Doris, Farley, Glen Arm and Carlsen and will ticket drivers who fail to come to a complete stop. Your complaints have been heard and we have the attention of law enforcement.
Reports of vandalism and car breakins have been reduced since last year.
We are working with the Sheriff''s Department on increased surveillance and have been sucessful in some apprehensions. You can expect to see continued patrols in marked cars as well as unmarked cars and plain clothes officers in our area. They will be watching all activity deemed suspicious in an effort to curb any crime against property as well as other offenses.
The Sheriff's Department has also agreed to watch for mail box vandalism loud car stereos, unsafe driving practices and suspicious behavior.
A DRUG ENFORCEMENT UNIT is also patrolling in Farley and will be aware of drug trafficking behaviors. DRUG TRAFFIC WILL NOT BE TOLERATED IN FARLEY!! Calls from residents to the sheriff's department regarding drug activity are welcomed and followed up by the Sheriff's Department.
Suspected gang activity, gang graffitti and other gang related problems can also be reported and will be investigated. Gang harrassment, graffitti or other GANG RELATED PROBLEMS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED IN FARLEY!!
Your willingness to report speeding and other violations has been effective in getting patrols for our neighborhood. Please continue the good work!
Serious incidents of crime should be reported IMMEDIATELY to 911.
Speeding, graffiti, and other non-violent crimes should be reported to the Sherrif's Non-Emergency number, 327-3811 and also to our Crime Watch Captain, Pat Wood - 247-1962.
