Hey BB, speaking of taxes, when calvary bought that prime retail space, what did that do to the taxes? Do they pay tax on the very large prime retail space or are they exempt? justcurious.

JustC...they are exempt. There are no more taxes paid on that property short of what is due this month for the preceding 1/2 year by the previous owners.

That west mall property was last assessed by the county at 5.5 million and the county received $17,178.00 in taxes every 6 months by the commercial owners. Again, none now.

The church is a domestic not for profit corporation/organization named Hilltop Journey, Inc., with nine persons listed as its officers. Pastor Dan is one of the officers.

What I am not sure about is how they rent the eastern mall portion that still has businesses in it. It was assessed at 5.2 million with no taxes showing paid there either and Hilltop listed as exempt.  I read that as....they pay no taxes but collect rent(?). Not sure how that all works.

On a side note to this....did you know those huge harley rodeo/racing events out at Conseville is also listed as ran by an exempt non-profit corporation, whose listed officers are just a husband and wife that own the grounds?

Big, you mean to tell me that both Christians and Pagans are exempt from real estate taxes!!!!!!
