Reba, than you for so clearly pointing out that the Mayor was dead wrong or was just plain ole not being truthful! 

In less than a week, the proposed budget will be given second reading.  After that it will be too late for any extended public scrutnity.  I now firmly believe that is why they have chosen to not post the proposed budget. In all fairness, they should post the proposed budget, leave it up long enough for us to see how OUR TAX MONEY is being spent, and then have the second reading.  And, of course they will say it goes into effect on July 1 so no delay will work.

I will vote against this entire commission the next time I get a chance including Mayor Odon-Groh.  The refusal to post the proposed budget is tryanny.

The commissioners finalized the budget draft for the 2011-2012 city budget with only a few changes. Commissioner Blain reported that at the executive session of the Commission we reviewed the budget items for salaries of City Clerk and City Treasurer. They have not been adjusted for almost ten years. He moved that they be increased from $125 per month to $150 per month starting with the new budget year.  Due to the new contract for maintenance of Bellemeade public lands that budget item was reduced. Everyone agreed that Mr. Don Ellingswowrth is doing a great job caring for the public lands.

The proposed budget had its first reading. The second reading and vote will be taken at the June meeting of the commission.

SO This is the ONLY mention of the "2011-2012" City of Bellemeade Budget.

This is NOT a Complete Budget for all to review.  Some residents have a life and can not make the meetings......BUT WE STILL HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW THE PROPOSED BUDGET ~ BEFORE IT'S VOTED ON!

Yes I agree with Kitty on this one. 

All I said was that the 2010-2011 budget was on here and in the May Mayors message I listed the changes that would be in the new budget.

I did NOT say I posted the proposed budget.
