City Team meeting report: we are still awaiting the installation of 11 decorative lampposts in Flora Wiley Park. They were ordered, and we will contact Public Works for an installation time frame.
Regarding use of North Shore Park near 7th Ave. N.E. for special event and church parking, while the City did NOT approve the recent use of the parkland for parking for the boat races, it did approve it for another recent event, according to City staff. We were encouraged to write a letter to Parks and Leisure Services objecting and to remind them of our request (apparently previously granted) for sidewalks surrounding the portion of the park in question, and the NSNA Board will do so. I was reminded that the City cannot alter the usage of the parkland permanently without voter approval. I would encourage all those concerned about the parking in the park to call Mary Campbell at 893-7336 and voice your concerns.
