Thanks again for that insight!
Too Critical Steve

Dear Steve,
Once again you overstep the bounds of good taste and civility. Carl did a bang-up jpb on the newsletter. He cannot help it if the news you wish he would have reported would have been an embarassement to the fine old NSNA - making it a laughing stock of the city. Sure, you can sit there in your comfortable home and write jabs at Carl and the hard working Board. They cannot help it if they appear underhanded and dishonest. You seem to expect them to be bright and alert and on the lookout for the wellbeing of the neighborhood. See, Steve, your logic is faulty. They don't give a rats a** about whether the truth is told or not.
To: Be Grateful

When I was Membership Chairman back in 1990 there were about 80 North Shore members at the start of my tour. When I and my numerous committee members finished walking the entire neighborhood to get these new members there were over 700 members in total. This raised somewhere between three to five thousand dollars. You must remember that single memberships were only five dollars and family memberships were only ten dollars at that time. My committee raised the first serious money that North Shore had seen in a long time if had ever seen. Additionally, many people donated five, ten and twenty dollar amounts in addition to the dues they paid. So the amount could have been even higher.

Then I was part of the Planning Committee, chaired by my wife in 1991. This committee again walked the entire neighborhood to talk to every household to encourage them to sign the petition to agree to vote for the Special Dependent District which allowed North Shore through the city to self tax itself $35.00 per property. This ended up raising about $80,000. This money was eventually used to pay the bulk of the five Gateway Entry Monuments and four small Cornerstone monuments.

Recently, I started a Fourth Street Beautification Committee whose task it was to beautify Fourth Street from Fifth Avenue to Thirtieth Avenue North. To date, I and my committee members have been fortunate enough to work with the Mayor and city staff to raise through the city budget process approximately $120,000 plus for this project which will significantly enhance North Shore's entire western boundry. We are still working on raising at least another $100,000 and possibly more through D.O.T. grants.

Even recently, through this CVS fiasco I have secured about ten more North Shore Memberships at $15.00 a pop is another $150.00

This is only some of my money making ventures which has benefited North Shore. I could write about more examples but I think by now you realize that you do not know what you are talking about. So I will stop on this point.

As for Carl's efforts to date I will say this even though it sounds trite to say it in print. But none the less it is true. I have done more in one week for North Shore than Carl has done since he arrived in our fair neighborhood. Carl has'nt done diddly squat except be led by others and cause great harm to the integrity and reputuation that was North Shore by his most recent voting record.

As for printing articles in the newsletter about me, please go ahead. Either way, if you print the truth I have no problems. If you don't print the truth you have problems.

Mr. Lange,
Your posting to Mr. Luvgren is insulting. Obviosly the board does not agree with your opinions or the newsletter would not continue to be put out. I suspect that your propensity to insult individuals and to want to have everything done your way may be what lead to your removal from office.
