I live on the corner on Timberleaf and Forest Springs. I came home this afternoon to find that someone drove over two of my 'trees' this afternoon. Did anyone see someone do this happen???

I did not see it, but call it in

I did see the damage but not who did it or when it happened. Please call it in to 911.

Someone did see it

We received a call later Saturday night from a neighbor who saw the entire incident. It appears that a car was travelling too fast heading west on Timberleaf, lost control (or tried to avoid a car in the intersection, I'm unclear), and plowed into two of my bushes and got stuck. The driver ran to the apartments and returned quickly with a few buddies. They got the first car off by pushing from behind with a second car. The first car seemed to have busted a radiator, at the absolute least.

I know all of this because the witness kindly filled out an affidavit which was faxed over to the correct poeple at the Dallas Police Department. We reported the incident to 911 and gave the officer a copy of the report. The police called me yesterday to inform me that the vehicle was pseudo-stolen. It appears that an elderly woman let her son have the car for the evening to go to a party. The son naively gave the keys to this car to an acquaintance so that the latter could drive his girlfriend home. The acquaintance never returned with the car. This was 11 days ago. The police will not consider the car stolen since the acquaintance was ''given'' the keys.

The best part is that the witness called 911 while the entire episode on my lawn was taking place. The 911 operator informed the witness that the police will only respond if the property owner (that's me) filed a complaint. But I wasn't home.......

car in your yard

I saw` the car in your yard on Apil 28, 2001. I called 911 and they should have a record of my call and the make and licence tag no. of the car in your yard. I just logged on the web site today and saw your message I hope you have the information. Cecilia
