The Forest Pond Subdivision was developed out of a parcel of land that was known as the Mallard Creek Township in Mecklenburg County of North Carolina. The plat was entitled Boundary Survey of Mallard Creek Road Property by Yarbrough-Williams & Associates, Inc. was submitted to the Register of Deeds Mecklenburg County in Book 08425, Page 0877/0899 on January 11, 1996.
The construction of Forest Pond was completed in three phases, the last phase was completed in 2001. In total, there are 278 single-family detached homes constructed within the Forest Pond Subdivision.
The Forest Pond Homeowners Association Board of Directors will perform to standards with the support of the Members to maintain and improve the conditions of the neighborhood as outlined in the Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions.

The Forest Pond HOA Board currently has eight active Board Members with a self-imposed limit of nine Board Members. There are three active Committees within the HOA, the Forest Pond Neighborhood Watch, the Welcoming Committee and the Architectural Standards Review Board.
The By-Laws on the Forest Pond Homeonwers' Association were established on 11 December 1995 and the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions Posted on 11 Januray 1996.
