Fort Oglethorpe Review

Class Wars ?

Warren Buffet has been quoted as saying that, " yes there has been a class war and we have won." Ironically; Buffet's Berkshire Holdings has bought up the largest manufacturing operation in North Georgia and more recently has bought the group of newspapers that informs the people of North West Georgia.

On another level it has been said that most of the public is like Christopher Columbus; that is      he didn't know where he was nor how he got there. Ask your neighbor about who owns Shaw Industries and who owns the news papers that inform North West Georgia and see if even one in four will know or care.

In the retail world Wal-Mart has already conquered our world with a super center in Fort Oglethorpe and one in Dalton as well as a regular one in LaFayette. Take a look at LaFayette and see that the city has been gutted of it's traditional retail stores and both Fort Oglethorpe and Dalton has had their retail centers greatly altered.

I am not saying that this is all bad but I am saying that at least we should be aware what has happened to us and to know how we ought to fit into the present system. Also to try and decide, that if we want a little better cut of the billions changing hands how we should go about getting it.
