One of the discussions that we hope to carry on here is; what constitutes good quality of life for a city and how much responsibility do we have as individual citizens in making a city run smooth?
Over the years I have served as president of the Chamber of Commerce in our town, had a stint as president of the Merchants Association and served on numerous committees to try and make city life more enjoyable. The one thing that remains clear is that someone must take leadership in creating events that produce a sense of community. In most cases it takes several someones to make things happen.
Our town like most towns has lost more and more private owners of businesses to more and more chain stores and seldom do you see a chain store manager get involved in community events.
So as our town and your town evolves and in effect becomes a different town, we invite you make comments, comments that will hopefully point to a positive way to keep a good sense of community.
